I would take them to him myself but he is about 500 miles away.
What kind of flowers should I send my step-grandpa who is in ICU?
I'm not sure they allow flowers in ICU. I know around here, they do not.
Send him a card with a nice photo of a flower...at least until he gets in a regular room. ICU is pure business. They don't want things cluttering up the area.
Reply:Most ICUs don't allow flowers or plants. Send him a card.
Reply:Call the hospital first to see if they allow flowers in their ICU. Most icu's don't allow them. But if they do then send one of mixed flowers. Hope he gets better really soon.
Reply:Flowers are a nice idea, but I bet a handmade card and a picture of you would really warm his heart.
Reply:Call the hospitals gift department. They will be able to help you make the best choice.
Reply:rose
Reply:Sunflowers! They are not too feminine, and they will brighten the room. I'm sure it will make him feel better!!
Reply:a lovely green plant flowers might irratate his breathing or something like that
Reply:any kind of fresh flowers are fine..as long as its not a potted plant, cause they require oxogen, which cannot be in icu, but fresh cut flowers do not need oxogen..
Reply:just ask a florist to deliver and ask for a mixed arrangement, its cheaper and looks really great
Reply:He can't have flowers as long as he is in ICU. Wait till he is out to send them to a room. He won't care what kind they are as long as you remember him. Pick something that requires little care and make it a plant. If you want flowers they can always add some fake flowers.
Reply:pretty sure icu does not take flowers call and ask balloons is another option
Reply:you need to ask the hospital if flowers are ok in icu.
