What I tend to do instead on special occasions is send my husband a gift basket of gourmet chocolates. He usually loves that although he has it eaten within a couple of days!
You can save TONS and get a bigger basket by making it yourself and having a friend deliver it. The nice baskets through ftd are usually close to $100- which would buy five of the same thing if you took that money to WalMart.

Reply:No, he would pretend to like them, but we aren't women. Statistcally women enjoy getting things that have no real value as a sign that he was thinking only of you. In contrast men are a little more logical, the best gifts are one he can use. Men buy women flowers because we know they like them, not because we know why they like them. (same with greeting cards, jewlery, etc...)

It was full of canteloupe apples pineapple bananas etc. all on sticks, half af them dipped in chocolate AND IT HAD ATON OF STRAWBERRIES dipped in a variety of different chocolates. It was a hit. He was a hit, in fact he had every pretty girl in the office "hitting on him" just kidding, but he was very populaur for the day as everyone wanted to admire it and ofcourse taste it. He ate it up ( the fruit and the attention) the he retreated to a semi=private place and used his cell to call the gift giver and thank her. He was smiling and blusing and talking very seductively to her. I bet she got quite a treat whn he got home. google ediblearrangements.com and find a store in your area that delivers these. I think i may just send one to someone tomorrow.

Fruit baskets, well they become an office gift don't they? You either share or look like a miser. Cologne and things like that, save it for when you see him.
The only time I have ever seen a man happy about something sent was when his wife sent a photo of herself that almost caused other males in the office to pass out. She was stunningly good looking and she had the most tasteful but still incredibly sensual professional image of herself done. It looked like an art print more than a photo. it was totally suitable to put on his desk. it arrived in black wrapping paper with a single red ribbon around it. and was hand delivered because most offices it goes through the mail room and they open it and log it in first.
so here arrives the package, a few friends gather with questions and he opens it

I've been noticing this girl for a while. She works at the bank that I go go and she work out at the gym that I do. She is the cutest person I've ever seen in my life. I don't run into her that often unless I go to the bank and get her window by chance. Its hard to find an oppertunity to ask her.

My ex (went out for a yr) and I still got along really well (talk for hrs often - practically every day) and had hooked up occasionally...after 7 months of this, I decided it was time I needed some space to move on properly. Now i dont wanna get back with her.. but i still dont like hearing about her new guy/s etc. and shes shown some jealous tendencies towards girls i see. I still care for her..as a close friend or even more but im certain i dont want it to go back to a relationship.

I been dating my gf for close to 2 months and Its my first ever pay check from work and I am planning to spend it all on the most important people to me... One of them being my gf. I plan on sending her flowers at work since she knows that I have never gave anyone gifts and It will be my first.... So I have come up with the following arrangements...
6 white roses - showing that I care
5 roses - friendship
1 red rose - love
Purpose is that I want her to know that I care of her and will be there for her... and with the friendship and trust that we have... love will surely come.... which really is what our current situation is like....

it is not that you have to do those things to get into her good books.when a woman tells you that she does not get those things from you, it is not usually driven by greed or an undieing need to be spoilt , but to be appreciated and treasured.
it may be difficult to verbalise it as such for a host of reasons,such as for fear of being seen as emotionally needy or most likely we don't like to have to spell out our needs to men. when we start saying you should help do the dishes or take me out because i am sick of the monotony of being in, it basically kills the romance a bit.
i would hazard a guess that most women would like their men to do those things ,because it is their desire to do so and not because we have beaten you into submission with our constant nagging.

Well I wouldn't feel bad if I were one of them, if you want a guy's opinion so I don't think it to be mean. Mean would be to make and an apointment for a date and do a "no show".
After all it's your money but be aware that if someone find out it would sound a little "weird" to explain (like from a Ben Stiller movie kind of thing). Some people will make real fun of you if they find about it.
My advice is to let the guys be, if they want to waste their time and money, let them play fool of themself, but if one of them get nasty then is the time to be mean.

Reply:no i havent , but once i was in college and this guy joined, he was from albania and he had no friends. being the nice guy i am i invited him into our group of friends to come play pool thinking i was doing good and he would mix in, over a period of time he started to act very strange, never mixing with the opthers but always clinging on to me, this drove me up the wall but the more i distanced myself the more he clung on! after a certain amount of time it started becoming apparent that he was more than just friendly, i began to suspect this and thought, "ok, dont be homophobic, be mature" which was really difficult at times as he had become a real stalker. Finally I had enough I told him where to go, it was the last week before half term, that saturday i went to work and someone had anonamously sent me a huge rose and a teddy. I immediately suspected him and went mad as it was really embarrassing, he was now a stalker, being half term i couldnt pull him up, over the two weeks i was fumin, my mate said he was gonna kill him as it was so demeaning for me. Anyway the last day before we went back to college a girl rang me and confessed it was her, being mighty releived i actually thought it was really nice of her to do so and still have the teddy to this day..........dont really know why i told this story but you brought back a lot of memories of stalkers flowers and teddies, thanks. take care.

Reply:I used to buy flowers for my ex as a gift and tell him that I was really buying them for me. He thought I was joking, but the joke was on him. I really was buying them for myself. He was a convenient excuse.

Reply:well theres no harm in buying yourself flowers.....but sending them to yourself is a little bazzar.....unless you want to try and impress your friends by saying that an admirer has sent them to you...just go out and get a nice bunch of flowers for yourself to brighten up your room...making someone jealous could cause friction so why bother causing a scene....it could backfire....my answer is no to sending yourself flowers.....just buy some and say hey look what i got myself...that may be a hint for them to go buy some for you

Reply:no iv never done that but it depends how you feel only you can answer that question and deep down i dont think it would work because ud know the truth. any way you should not need to send flowers to your self because there is some one out there that will head over heels 4 you and that means more than flowers.
Reply:no i havent , but once i was in college and this guy joined, he was from albania and he had no friends. being the nice guy i am i invited him into our group of friends to come play pool thinking i was doing good and he would mix in, over a period of time he started to act very strange, never mixing with the opthers but always clinging on to me, this drove me up the wall but the more i distanced myself the more he clung on! after a certain amount of time it started becoming apparent that he was more than just friendly, i began to suspect this and thought, "ok, dont be homophobic, be mature" which was really difficult at times as he had become a real stalker. Finally I had enough I told him where to go, it was the last week before half term, that saturday i went to work and someone had anonamously sent me a huge rose and a teddy. I immediately suspected him and went mad as it was really embarrassing, he was now a stalker, being half term i couldnt pull him up, over the two weeks i was fumin, my mate said he was gonna kill him as it was so demeaning for me.
