And what should the card say?
Chinese friends are opening a new business. What flowers/plant should I send to the grand opening?
Bamboo symbolizes prosperity and good fortune.Send bamboo in a bright red pot, or a regular clay pot with a bright red ribbon.
The card should simply say that you wish them good luck in their new venture
Reply:Actually, don't send bamboo. Send a money tree. My Chinese clients have told me that they do not appreciate bamboo. The significance of that plant is no longer important since you can buy such plants almost everywhere now, even Wal-mart. A money tree has more significance. Report It
Reply:what about a money tree? or one of those lucky bamboo shoot things?
Reply:Anything aslong as they're not white...white is associated with death in Chinese culture.
I think red is linked to prosperity, so something with red in would be good :-)
Reply:If you're in a community with a large Chinese population go to any Chinese florist and they can easily help you.
