Is this a normal occasion to send flowers?

I have been talking to this one girl a lot lately, and she has a dance recital on May 6th. I am going to it, but I work during the day and it is at night. So I won't see her all day or before the recital probably, and it is two hours away from where I work. Is it normal to send flowers to someone who has a recital or something of that nature? And if it is should I send her them early in the day because I won't get to see her before she dances, should I bring them with me to give her after she dances, or should I send them the night before? Any suggestions?



P.S. We go to college like two hours appart so that might explain any questions you have about why I am doing it this way.

I think you should stop on your way and pick up some flowers and bring them to her. She would be very surprised and love it!!

Reply:ANY ocassion is a godd ocassion to send flowers :) either send them the night before to wish her luck, or see if they can be in her dressing room the night of the performance.
Reply:It is traditional to give flowers to a performer after the show, so yes, this would be lovely and appropriate. If you're just friends, be careful not to get anything romantic, like red roses or orchids.



You can also call the box office of the theater and ask if they allow flower delivery to a performer's dressing room. (She may not have a dressing room, the flowers might get swiped by someone else, there may not be any staff present at the time the flowers are delivered to sign for them or let the delivery person in, etc). Having them delivered would be a very big gesture.
Reply:Im not sure if it is normal. But i think it is CUTE AS HELL.! You should kind of make it seem like your not gonna be able to make it to see her dance, then you be there and suprise her with flowers after she dances. She will be VERY, VERY happy.! This world needs more guys like this.!
