My friend's grandmother was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Should I send a food basket or flowers?

Which is more appropriate to let the family know that my thoughts are with them at this time?

I think a nice card would do.
Reply:Definitely a food basket or tray. When my dad died everything was a little hectic %26amp; no one was thinking about cooking either. Also during times like these, you really don't have much of an appetite (well i didn't). the fruit/veggie/cheese trays %26amp; even the KFC fried chicken buckets were very much appreciated because it was always there to nibble on %26amp; was something to keep our energy up.
Reply:I agree that the food basket is a good choice for the situation. I don't know of anyone who would want to cook after receiving news like that.

If she had already passed I would suggest a plant because then they could keep it to remember her by. I still have plants from my son's funeral 8 years ago.
Reply:if your sending them to the grandma definitely go the flowers. A lot of terminal cancer patients dont eat towards the end. If your sending it to your friend to the food basket. x
