Yes! It is appropriate to have the flowers delivered by the florist. It would be tacky to carry them in yourself. Most florists will give you options on flower arrangements..such as basket arrangements, spray etc. The people at the mortuary/church will arrange all of the flowers so they look nice. These really make a dull space look beautiful for the memorial service. If you would rather, it is appropriate to send the flowers or even a nice living plant (such as azalea) to the deceased familys home. I like to send Azalea because it flowers often and can be a nice reminder of the lost loved one. Hope this helps.
Does one send flowers to a memorial service?
I always send a live plant to memorial services.
Reply:Yes -it's nice to do.
Reply:Do you plan on attending? If you are attending I would suggest a card, if not than sending flowers to the home might be better. Call the funeral home and see what they say.
Reply:Yes, and the family would be very appreciative..I know I was!!!
